Jackie Aponte

Jackie Aponte began her career in education as an instructor and program assistant for an adult basic literacy program in Raleigh, NC, and later became a middle grades classroom teacher in Durham, NC. She worked for nine years at a k-8 charter school in East Durham, serving as a reading interventionist, middle school social studies teacher and department chair, curriculum and assessment writer, and instructional coach. 

Jackie joined the North Carolina New Teacher Support Program in 2020 as a new teacher support coach. As of 2021, Jackie is pursuing a PhD in Teacher Education and Learning Sciences at North Carolina State University, with a focus on educational equity.
