Misty Hathcock, Regional Director

Dr. Misty Hathcock is a fifth generation educator and a five-time graduate from UNC Charlotte. For 11 years, Misty was an elementary/middle grades teacher and administrator in Anson County Schools. In 1998, Misty became a member of UNC Charlotte’s College of Education faculty as the first full time Director of the NC Teaching Fellows Program. As the NC Teaching Fellows Program was ending, Misty served as coordinator of the Teacher Education Learning Community for two years and transitioned into the Office of Field Experiences as a fulltime university supervisor of student teachers. In January 2016, Misty was tapped as the Regional Director for the NC New Teacher Support Program and leads a team of 13 instructional coaches to support beginning teachers in Southwest NC districts/charter schools. In addition to being the NC New Teacher Support Program Regional Director, Misty is a clinical professor in the Reading and Elementary Department, Site Coordinator for student teachers, and Alumni Affairs Director for the Cato College of Education.
