Lori Best

Lori Best has devoted 21 years to education in North Carolina. She has served as an instructional coach for 11 years at the state, district, and school level. She has served NC schools with the NCNTSP for four years. Lori earned her Master’s in Teaching in Science Education from UNCW. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with Teaching Certification from UNCW. Lori currently holds an NC teaching license for secondary and middle school science, middle school language arts and K-12 reading. All of her education experience has been in southeastern NC. She taught science and reading in the classroom. She is passionate about equality in education and supporting beginning teachers in NC. Lori often provides professional development on student engagement, differentiation and meeting students’ needs in rural areas with high rates of poverty.
