Carrie Brewington

Carrie Lynn Brewington is an Instructional Coach for the New Teacher Support Program (NC NTSP) who supports beginning teachers through a collaborative approach with mentors, principals and district leadership by providing direct support through conversation and reflection. Carrie believes that beginning teachers bring great talent and innovation to the profession and works diligently to support these individuals as they navigate through this unique journey. 

Carrie Brewington has worked as a Science Instructional Coach and School Transformation Coach for the Department of Public Instruction with District and School Transformation supporting the lowest-achieving schools in the state.  Currently she is a Doctoral Candidate at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in Educational Leadership researching the “turnaround approaches of school principals.”

Carrie Brewington has obtained her National Board certification in Early Adolescent Science and was awarded the National Science Foundation NOYCE 5-year Kenan Fellowship in a partnership with DuPont and NC State University.  Carrie holds a Bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University and  a Master’s Degree from East Carolina University.

When she is not supporting beginning teachers, Carrie can be found spending time with her husband and son traveling and boating.  She prefers all places tropical and sandy!
