Summit Goals

  • Increase awareness and interest in data from the NC NTSP
  • Share RFP proposal process allowing access to NTSP data
  • Create research networks and affinity groups in areas of grant writing, scholarly work and informing educator preparation.
  • Increase research publications pertaining to teacher preparation, induction or leadership development
  • Establish ongoing data summit/research symposia pertaining to educator workforce in North Carolina

What is a Data Summit?

An opportunity to share current and historical collection of data pertaining to the experiences of early career teachers enrolled in the North Carolina New Teacher Support Program.

Who is Invited?

Anybody interested in teacher induction, preparation, development, teacher retention or experiences of early career teachers. Additionally, any faculty members advising Masters or Doctoral candidates on similar topics should be invited to attend.

What will the event look like?

While the agenda is still being finalized, we will share: a historical perspective of the NC NTSP; current evaluation methodologies; highlights from last year’s summit; opportunities to join affinity writing groups.

NC NTSP is a program of the University of North Carolina System and administratively coordinated by East Carolina University. NC NTSP services are administered through the state's public universities in collaboration with public schools and school districts. Teachers are supported by experienced Instructional Coaches who understand their local community, the needs of beginning teachers, and quality instructional practice. Ongoing program evaluation is in partnership with the Friday Institute.
