Denise Hunt

Denise is an Instructional Coach for the North Carolina New Teacher Support Program who collaborates with new teachers in the areas of planning, instruction, and assessment by promoting and supporting novice teachers as they engage in reflective practices to hone their craft. Denise believes that every new teacher deserves  a thought partner as they navigate their new teaching journeys. 

Denise has worked in the education field for over 25 years. During her career, she has worked as a classroom teacher, and as a district instructional coach. While Denise has served in various roles throughout her career, she remains most passionate about engaging with new teachers and helping them find their footing in the profession.  Denise continuously seeks out learning opportunities to enhance her understanding of best coaching practices so that she can effectively impact the teaching profession. 

Denise is a National Board Certified Teacher, and she holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in English. Denise also has a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from UNC-Wilmington. 

When Denise is not supporting novice teachers, she loves reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
