Julie Little
Julie Little serves as an Instructional Coach for the New Teacher Support Program (NC NTSP), standing by the side of novice teachers and district partners. Her role involves furnishing valuable support and expertise in MTSS, differentiation strategies, catering to diverse learners, and enhancing classroom engagement. Rooted in her belief that education and coaching possess the profound ability to unleash human potential and facilitate positive transformation, Julie brings a wealth of experience to her position.
Over her extensive 24-year career in education, Julie has been a pillar of support in various capacities. From being a District Math Specialist to an Academically Intellectually Gifted Specialist, a mentor for new teachers, a collaborative colleague, and a skilled professional development facilitator, she has left an indelible mark. Each day, she embraces the chance to collaborate with fellow educators, whose passion and dedication rekindle her own aspiration for excellence, enabling her to cater to the diverse needs of every student.
With aspirations to further enrich her expertise, Julie is preparing to embark on her doctoral journey in curriculum and instruction. Her educational qualifications encompass certifications in Elementary Education, AIG, and Reading K-12. Notably recognized as a NC Teaching Fellows awardee and a National Board-Certified Educator in Early/Middle Childhood Literacy: Reading and Language Arts, Julie’s commitment to advancing learning is unwavering. Her academic foundation includes a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UNC-Asheville and a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University.
Outside the school environment, Julie’s interests flourish. She finds solace in immersing herself in non-fiction literature, cherishing moments with her dogs, engaging in coffee conversations with friends, and seeking rejuvenation through camping trips with her husband. This multifaceted approach to life reflects her dedication to growth and learning, both personally and professionally.
