Nate Bourne

Nate has taught middle school in ABSS for 20 years. In that time he has served as a science, social studies, and STEM teacher along with serving as an AIG specialist. His focus as a teacher was in creating authentic experiences for students leveraging both Project and Problem Based Instruction. He has a B.A. in History and M.Ed from Elon University and his teaching certification from Greensboro College. Nate became a Kenan Fellow in 2014 and worked on developing citizen science projects for K-12 schools.  As part of his fellowship and citizen science work, he created and delivered professional development across the state of North Carolina through NCSU and in the Western Cape Province of South Africa through Stellenbosh University. Nate currently is an instructional coach with the NC New Teacher Support Program, UNCG region, serving beginning teachers in K-12 schools.
